Success vs intelligence

A modern look at terman’s 40 years survey

Please read the disclaimer before reading my post and don't take it in a wrong way just analyse.

While crunching the hard numbers in school does it mean that a student with higher marks will be more successful in life as compared to others who usually remained as average or a failure in school.

So, terman finally came forward to test this in the early 1920
As there were more than 2 lacs students all over in US in the age group of 8 to 12.. 

So it was not possible for him to test it personally by counselling so he conducted  a standardised exam all over us between 8 to 12 years age of us.
As per IQ of an AVERAGE student is considered it is between 90 to 105.
An intelligent student has an IQ over 140 and extremely genius students has an IQ of 160 above.

Results..

So, A total of 1500 was selected by conducting the test who had an iq of 150 approximately. Also out of 1500, 80 had an IQ over 160.

So terman remained to keep a track over these students  and found out  That These were the toppers in theirs respective schools.

Over the years as there were academically successful and became more and more successful by cracking competitive exams. Terman stated that these are the treasure of usa and they will be changing our country to  Full development and growth after terman’s death other philosophers continued this survey but but but....

the result was totally different from the expectations of all philosophers. Out of 1500 students only 20 could be successful in theirs fields and rest reamined in a normal Company working from 9 to 5.

But rest students who had iq less than 100 became more successful in their fields and could do something big in their life like nobel Prize laureate John Nash (of "A Brilliant Mind" fame) and mathematician Kurt Gödel who struggled with mental illness and personal crises and there are many out who became successful in basketball, rugby, or a successful artist like painting, singing, rapping, etc

Overall it was stated that intelligence and success have no far correlation all the assumptions  that only people with higher iq became successful in their life was removed from the mind of many philosophers.

 From researches it was found out that success is determined more by personality, perception, ideas and the confidence level of people than their respective intelligence and their academic performance.
